Ultimate DIY Bride

Over the course of our engagement, I've taken on multiple projects that have been time consuming because of the need to have everything done a certain way. I guess you can say I am the ultimate DIY bride! With the help of Mark, we've created our entire invitation from scratch, from the blank sheet of paper to the final product. We've spent numerous hours finding the right ribbon, picking out the right font and color, working with our friends who have made our monogram and the layout of our content. Not to mention are awesome favors we're giving away at our wedding, people who really know me will understand why we're giving it away.

RECENT PROJECT
Week 1 of practice: don't judge, wait til you get the real thing! [picture to the right] Over the past few weeks, I've been learning calligraphy. Rather than having our invitations printed out and although it would be perfect, I wanted to add a personal touch by hand-writing every invitation. Grant, we could have paid someone to do it, but I thought it would be fun! The calligraphy might not be perfect, seeing how I just picked it up as a hobby but I'm pretty proud. I've been practicing for 2-3 weeks! So once you receive your invitation, know that a lot of work went behind every aspect of what you're getting.[envelopes and everything inside of them!]

WHAT TO TAKE FROM OUR WEDDING
From the beginning of the planning process, we wanted our guest to understand the dynamics of who we are. Anything that has our "stamp" of approval, we will make sure we back it 110%. We've been working very hard to make the "bigger picture" perfect, to mine and Mark's standards, but what makes up the bigger picture? It's the details. Each event that is prior and after the wedding is a reflection of who we are as an individual and more importantly, who we are as a couple. Everything has a meaning behind it and if you ask, I'd love to tell you..maybe with the exception of the plates and utensils. lol. I'm almost positive, people will just see the event as the bigger picture, but if you chose to dissect each section, you'll notice small things we've done to personalize it as our own.

With a little more than 2 months on the countdown, my excitement continue to grows!
